The SHARP Foundation (charitable registration number 897948436RR0001) is continuing to grow to better meet the needs of the community we serve. We have an ongoing need for funds and goods to maintain our current programs and services but also require resources for new initiatives.

Current (February 2009) major funding initiatives include:

• New Flooring for Beswick House - seeking approximately $12,000 for new linoleum throughout Beswick House.
• Elevator Repair and Maintenance at Beswick House (a lift is necessary as many of our residents require walkers, wheelchairs or assistance to get up and down between the bedroom levels and the entrances to the home).
• Care giving - The Foundation currently spends approximately $180,000 per year to provide 24-7 care and support to residents.   The Foundation's Care Attendants are funded strictly through monies raised from gaming (bingos, casinos, etc.) and private donations.
• An ongoing activities program to help our clients maintain physical health, improve social skills and to educate.

We are also dependent on donations to maintain the three residences (Beswick House, Scott House and Project 2011) we currently operate. This includes repairs and upkeep on household appliances and the elevator; painting, replacing flooring with new linoleum and other small construction projects. This month's wish list includes:

• Storage Space for Project 2011
• Patio umbrella and lawn chairs for Project 2011
• Twin sized sheet sets (10 sets)
• Twin sized flannel flat sheets (10 sets)
• Comforters
• Fencing for Beswick House and Project 2011
• New pillows (approximately 24 each year)
• Towels, hand towels and facecloths  (approximately 24 each year)
• Movie passes; Blockbuster Video/ Rogers Video Gift Certificates; The Calgary Zoo entry passes; Heritage Park passes; Theatre Calgary or ATP tickets; hockey or football tickets.
• New and used furniture in good condition, particularly night stands (bedside tables) and dressers
• Bus Passes
• Paper products (facial tissue) and groceries
