In recognition of International HIV Awareness Week the SHARP Foundation proudly hosts the 6th Annual Night For Hope!
Join us for an evening of cocktails, food & entertainment as the event will be taking place on Thursday November 28th 2019 at Devonian Gardens, Core Shopping Centre, and Calgary.
As for the past 29 years, the SHARP Foundation's model of holistic, compassionate care for people living with HIV has been gaining recognition across Canada and the United States!
Throughout this time we have provided dignity and hope to over 500 people; stabilizing their health, strengthening their resilience and improving their quality of life!
Unfortunately, long time survivors fear a daunting future of stigma and discrimination due to their HIV status and, for over 50%, their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Currently in Canada, there is a lack of seniors’ facilities which provide non-judgmental care to individuals aging with HIV or LGBTQ+ seniors resulting in fear of discrimination, possibly going back into the closet and decreasing quality of life.
All proceeds of this event will go directly to continue building programs to support people aging with HIV and need the safe, non-judgemental, inclusive care and housing that makes SHARP unique!
